How to keep up the good mood


Life is like a circle. Sometimes we’re on top, sometimes we’re on the bottom of the circle. It keeps turning upside down. When we find something bad happen, it will gives us bad mood. Only us that can control such mood. It’s only us that can decide how to react against everything. I’ve been observing my behaviour towards many kinds of interactions or incidents. So if you are having similar personality with me, I guess this might help you in the future.


There are several things that can help us to keep up the good mood. So far it works very well for someone like me (temperamental type: Sanguine, learning type: Visual-Kinesthetic). First of all, we have to make sure that our basic needs is always fulfilled. We often get pissed off easily when we feel terribly hungry, or exhausted.  Another thing, for a neat typical person, we should make sure that our surrounding is comfy and clean. 



The next thing may vary for different people, but as for me, one of activity that can prevent my self from getting angry is doing some exercise. Getting my self sweaty and little bit pumped up by doing sports is always refreshing my mind. In my opinion, getting angry means that we fill up our body with negative energy. Doing exercise will help us to drain those negative energy in a good way. I used to do some martial arts practice, including meditation, as my routine about 2-3 times a week. But now, since I don’t go to the gym, I usually do some simple exercise in my home.  I usually do cycling using fitness-exercise bike, and then I go with some stretching, and then a little bit dumbell work out. If there’s still enough spare time, I usually add some kicks exercises. Somehow I still feel that martial arts is the best way to throw away all the negative energy. Oh, another sports I like the most is swimming, because you feel pump up and relax at the same time. By feeling the flow of the water on your skin, you also train your muscle at the same time. That just a perfect combination between rising your adrenaline and relaxing your mind. Anyway, so the big ideas here is to have a routine sports activities.


Another thing is to have pets, except you’re under circumstance that make it impossible to do. For me, interact with pets can bring me happiness, because pets are really fun and adorable. We can’t get bored with them. We love them in such unique way.  Have you heard that some pets can heal people’s heart? Well, I believe it because all I know is that they can fill our emptyness, it’s true.

I also suggest to avoid sad love songs, sad drama movies, etc, if we  really want to avoid mood swing. That kind of things will only push ourselves to be drowned in sorrow and sadness. As a results, we will not be happy as what we expected to be. The key to keep up the good mood is do whatever that makes us happy, not otherwise.

Last but not least, if we are people who obey the religion, I’m sure that we all believe, to expel anger we gotta always remember God. Everything that we can’t change, everything that beyond our strength and authority. Just leave them all. Let them go. Trust God with every ‘other things’ and live your life with no worries.
